Top Places To Visit In London
We’ve had requests from some of our readers about fun places to visit in London so today we decided to feature a few must-visit places when you get to the Big Smoke. Enjoy!
Westminster Abbey: this is where all the English monarchs are crowned and buried, has been since 1066. The acoustics are brilliant – you may want to watch out for organ recitals and the like.
Houses of Parliament and Big Ben The seat of ruling can be viewed by all. You can visit both the Commons and the Lords. There are tours in high season also.
Trafalgar Square: This is one of ‘the places’ to be on New Year’s Eve – if you like cuddling perfect strangers that is!
Piccadilly Circus: They say that if you sit in Piccadilly long enough you’ll see everyone you ever knew.
Soho: Take a look; it’s amusing, titillating, seedy. It’s Soho. Careful not to get done if you go into any of the shows, it may be more expensive than you bargained for.
Covent Garden: For all your shopping, eating and other sight-seeing needs, this is the place to be.
National Gallery: this is a must-visit if you are an art lover.
Buckingham Palace: one of the more popular sights of London, you should see it too.
Hyde Park: Acres and acres of greenery with a man-made lake to boot. It is an absolutely beautiful sight and features some of the most upscale apartments in London.
St Paul’s Cathedral: this is the cathedral where the wedding of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana took place in 1981.
Other sites you should also visit if you can spare the time include:
Cabinet War Rooms
Downing Street
Changing of the Guard
Madame Tussauds Waxworks
The London Eye
Tower of London
Natural History Museum
The British Museum
