12 Packing Hacks To Try This Summer

Packing, admittedly, is not the most fun thing to do but with our list of 12 packing hacks to try this summer, you can make it more painless to prepare for your next trip. Let’s go!

Packing Hack #1 – Keep on rolling

As far as packaging techniques go, the rolling approach represents a major breakthrough. Clothes that are folded instead than rolled up take up more storage space. Rolling also keeps your items free of wrinkles and creases. It’s incredible how much of a difference such a straightforward tip can make while packing. However, compared to the standard folding method, rolling takes more time. The effort may be high, but it is justified by the gains.

Packing Hack #2 – Wear your heaviest clothes for travelling

This is one of the earliest (and most common) techniques available. However, it never fails to satisfy. Wearing your shoes, sweaters and jacket can help you pack lighter for your trip. Make use of the larger pockets as you put on your bulky stuff. Keeping valuables near to you increases their security.

Packing Hack #3 – Make packing a team sport

Finding a travel companion and making plans for an adventure together is the most exciting part. It’s possible to coordinate in advance to exchange necessities like toothpaste and Bluetooth speakers. Keep an eye out for one another. A first-aid kit, emergency contact information, and valid identification documents are all items that should not be forgotten. Although it’s only a small token, it can go a long way towards strengthening your friendship and adding to the trip’s enjoyment. One clean change of pants and clothing can be stowed away in the luggage of travelling companions. In case your luggage becomes lost or delayed, you won’t have to go without clean clothes for too long.

Packing Hack #4 – Plan ahead

Last-minute packing is a certain way to ruin your trip. About a week, or at least two or three days, before you go, you should begin packing your suitcase. Spend the most of your time learning about and organising your topic. In addition to researching your destination, you should check the airline’s baggage policy. By just checking in advance, you may prevent any hassles or extra charges at the airport. When you have some downtime, lay out all of your supplies to verify that you haven’t forgotten anything and to rethink what to bring.

Packing Hack #5 – Use a capsule wardrobe

Keep your clothing understated. You may travel in comfort and style with a selection of basic, multipurpose garments. If you don’t want to create a vacation capsule wardrobe, choose neutral colours for your clothing. They can be combined in a variety of ways. A colour scheme for your entire wardrobe is something else to think about. Make sure you have a lot of options with only a few basic pieces of clothes.

Packing Hack #6 – Use every space

Socks and pants are perfect for stuffing into shoes to make the most of the space. Earrings, necklaces, and other jewellery can also be packed; just be sure to protect it with bubble wrap first. As a result of the shoes’ sturdy construction, you may conserve room and safeguard fragile goods. Similarly, hats can serve the same function. Put your socks and other small objects inside your hats and lay them on their sides. This is also a great technique for maintaining the form of your hats that don’t collapse.

Packing Hack #7 – Make sure everything has a use or two

You can save some weight by only bringing items that serve more than one use. When you can bring one bottle that acts as both shampoo and conditioner, why bring two? The options are limitless. A Sarong, for instance, can be used as a variety of things, including a blanket, towel, privacy drape, or shawl. Packing should be given careful consideration at all times. Do you REALLY need it?

Packing Hack #8 – Pack everything in order of use and necessity

If you’re not a fan of suitcase rummaging, this is yet another way to avoid it. Layer your suitcase with the clothes you’ll wear frequently, and the clothes you’ll wear on your last few days on the top layer. Another helpful hint is to wear heavy items (like jeans or boots) towards the bottom and layer thinner items above them. Your entire bag will be more stable thanks to this setup.

Packing Hack #9 – Leave a little space for gifts and shopping

You want to be prepared for every occasion, but don’t forget you may need to take extra bits home, souvenirs, gifts or a little shopping spree for yourself. But if you do go overboard you can always ship your purchases home.

Packing Hack #10 – Pack laundry bags

It’s not something to be taken lightly to pack dirty clothing. If not done properly, it can produce an unpleasant odour and ruin otherwise clean clothing. Find a place to put your soiled clothes unless you plan on doing laundry while you’re on the road. A minimum of two bags, one for light clothing and one for dark, are required. Other options, such as plastic bags, can do the job just as well. Choose eco-friendly items like laundry bags and beach towels. Keep in mind that the availability of a nearby laundromat is unpredictable.

Packing Hack #11 – Put essentials and an outfit change in your carry on

Everyone’s worst travel nightmare is lost or delayed bags. It’s possible for everyone to experience this. If you have your toiletries and an extra change of clothes in your carry-on, you won’t be caught unprepared. Taking regular drugs that might not be available where you’re going is a must. It also eliminates the need to unpack your bag in the aisle of the plane.

Packing Hack #12 – Photograph everything

Put everything in your suitcase on a flat surface, then snap a picture. In two ways, this helps. For one, it facilitates a thorough inventory to ensure that nothing is forgotten while packing up to head home.Second, you should document both the departure and the return with photographs. Check to discover which ones you actually brought along on the vacation. Never bring that along again. In other words, you just optimise your pack.

As you can see, you can save so much time and effort with changing just a little of how you do things. Look at packing as part of the adventure and be open to doing things differently.
