The best time to visit Santorini is during the off-peak travel season for those travelling with kids and love a serene environment. However, if you are open to making a thousand new friends, then the summer period is the best time to visit.

There are fewer crowds around springtime and during mid-September through October when the weather is warm, however, if you are looking to take a budget trip, November through March is the best time.

There is an old adage that Santorini has more churches than houses. This is essentially true. The Three Bells of Fira, located in Firostefani is the most-photographed church known for its blue dome and whitewashed buildings. The Three Bells is the historical landmark of Fira village. You will feel right at home as you overlook the luscious landscaping with an amazing view of the Aegean Sea.

Hiking from Fira to Oia

One of the things to do in Santorini is to hike from Fira to Oia. Take a long leisure walk around the caldera cliff as you catch the gorgeous sunset and the city’s architecture view. The hiking should not take more than 3-4 hours depending on your endurance strength.

Akrotiri Archaeological Site

If you are looking for a serene place to stay in Santorini with a Caldera view, Akrotiri is certainly the right choice.

Akrotiri was a prehistoric city buried in volcanic ash in the late 17th century B.C. Most of the artworks, objects, and frescoes at the site were remarkably well-preserved.
