Wakanow Group Announces CFO Appointments
Lagos, Nigeria – Wakanow Group, Africa’s leading travel-tech company, has announced two key appointments, which it said is aimed at strengthening the financial leadership across the group.
A document made available to the media by the company’s Lagos headquarters on January 6, 2025 and signed by the Group Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Adedeji confirmed Omotunde Bajo as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Wakanow entity. Additionally, it named Nozipho Sibanda as the new CFO of its fintech subsidiary, Kalabash.com.
“These appointments underscore Wakanow Group’s commitment to building a strong financial and strategic backbone,” said Bayo. “Both Bajo and Sibanda bring significant expertise to their roles, and we are confident in their ability to lead the financial vision for Wakanow and Kalabash, respectively as we set to consolidate our position as a leading player in the African travel and fintech industries.”
Omotunde Bajo, a finance professional with over a decade of experience, assumes her new role after a successful career at Wakanow. Since joining the company in 2019, she has held key positions, including Finance Manager, Director of Finance, and most recently, Vice President of Finance.
Bajo’s career spans multiple industries, including e-commerce and manufacturing. She is an alumna of the University of Lagos, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, as well as a Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA) certification from the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI).
At Kalabash, Nozipho Sibanda brings extensive expertise in finance and strategy, having worked across Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa. She previously served as Finance and HR Director at Rack Centre Limited, a data center business, and as Finance Director for Dimension Data in West Africa. Sibanda is also a chartered accountant with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
She holds a BSc. in Chemistry and two postgraduate diplomas from the University of Cape Town. Her experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and financial transformation positions her to drive Kalabash’s fintech initiatives.
