INEMA ARTS CENTER

Established by brothers who were both self-taught artists, the Inema Arts Center has been a place to see modern art in Kigali the arts center was built in 2012. The outside of the building is coated in vivid murals that makes it difficult to ignore. The Inema Arts Center frequently holds frequent dance shows, art-inspired yoga lessons, museum visits, and concerts.

The exhibition space accommodates a good number of artists in residence. These arts works range from mixed media pieces, abstract portraits and traditional African crafts from Rwanda. Tourists get to view art works depending on the artist available and have the opportunity to make a purchase with delivery included.

NYAMIRAMBO WOMEN’S CENTER

For beautiful handcrafted souvenirs, visit the Nyamirambo Women’s Center that was set up in 2007 to inspire and empower women and foster gender equality through trainings and classes. Tourists can find hand-woven bags and cane works of any type and size, beautifully printed totes, patterned place mats, crocheted rugs, beaded jewels and locally inspired fashions.

In addition, visitors and tourists can attend traditional cooking lessons and basket-weaving workshops which forms a sort of acculturation of Rwanda life, history and culture.  

One of the best things to do in this place is to be involved in its group immersions community which provides informative walks across Nyamirambo with Tour Guides guiding travelers to the nearby hair salons, mosques, tailors and farms.

Another awesome thing to do in Kigali is to go on a wildlife tour to watch chimpanzees, monkeys and gorillas on a wildlife tour and lodge in an eco-lodge at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountains.
