It’s a royal wedding guys! Prince Harry, aka Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales, 33, and Rachel Meghan Markle, 36, – Actress and Humanitarian are getting married!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to wed on Saturday, May 19, 2018. The couple’s decision to wed on a Saturday goes against royal tradition, as royal weddings usually take place on a weekday – The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got married on a Friday and the Queen on a Thursday. So there is no possibility of a bank holiday for this particular royal wedding. 🙁

Wedding Invites –

The wedding invitations, however, follow many years of royal wedding tradition. They are made by Barnard Westwood. Using American ink on English card, each invite has been printed in gold and black. It also features the three-feathered badge of the Prince of Wales.

Meghan Markle’s engagement ring is made of yellow gold – a diamond from Botswana and two diamonds from Princess Diana’s collection. Based on royal wedding culture, her wedding band will most likely be made out of Welsh gold.

Sit-down engagement interview with the BBC – Prince Harry: “the ring is obviously yellow gold because that’s [Markle’s] favorite and the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana and the little diamonds either side are from my mother’s jewelry collection, to make sure that she’s with us on this crazy journey together.”

There are no traditional wedding gifts at this royal wedding. Harry and Markle chose seven charities that have a special meaning to them and asked that people give donations to the charities instead of sending wedding gifts.

The marriage of Prince Harry and Markle will take place in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle by 12 pm. St. George’s Chapel has been one of the most significant places of worship throughout the history of the British royal family – ten monarchs have been buried there, including Henry VIII and Charles I, and it is the location where Queen Elizabeth II has chosen to be buried. The chapel seats approximately 800 guests.
