Access to clean water is a fundamental necessity, yet millions around the world still struggle with inadequate supply. As part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, Wakanow provided 20,000 bottles of co-branded water and financial support to ensure the success of this life-changing initiative. The campaign focused on educating Lagos residents about the importance of hydration while highlighting the broader issue of access to clean water, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation.

Reaching Communities Across Lagos

The H2O Wellness Campaign was an extensive outreach effort, touching lives across several key locations in Lagos, including Lekki, Ikoyi, Sangotedo, Victoria Island, Ikate, and Ikeja. Volunteers distributed water bottles in high-traffic areas, offices, schools, religious centres, and marketplaces, ensuring maximum impact. The initiative also included on-foot engagements, direct community interactions, and public awareness talks on hydration and water accessibility.

Wakanow’s involvement in the campaign was about more than just distributing water; it was about driving meaningful conversations around the need for clean water for all. By engaging with thousands of Lagosians, the campaign created awareness about the dangers of dehydration and advocated for improved water infrastructure to meet the growing needs of urban communities.

Wakanow’s Commitment to Community Well-being

Speaking on Wakanow’s involvement, Omotunde Bajo, Group CFO of Wakanow, reinforced the company’s dedication to giving back to society. “At Wakanow, we understand that travel, tourism, and community well-being go hand in hand. Access to clean water is a basic human right, and we are proud to support this initiative that not only promotes hydration but also addresses a crucial societal challenge,” she said.

A Shared Vision for a Healthier Future

The Convener of the H2O Wellness Campaign, Karz Janet, expressed gratitude to Wakanow for its generous support. “This sponsorship allowed us to expand our reach and make a bigger impact than ever before. Beyond hydration awareness, we’ve ignited discussions on the urgent need for clean water access, and Wakanow’s contribution played a crucial role in making this happen,” she said.

For Wakanow, social impact extends beyond the business of travel. By actively participating in community development initiatives, the company continues to position itself as a socially responsible organisation committed to improving lives.
