Wakanow Leads the Way in Brazzaville’s First Tourism Walk
Wakanow is making bold strides across Africa literally. On April 20th, Brazzaville came alive as Wakanow, in partnership with TheXperts CongoB, hosted the city’s first-ever Tourism Walk—a vibrant showcase of Congo’s rich culture, wellness spirit, and tourism potential. More than 100 participants joined the 10-kilometer walk, setting out just after sunrise and weaving through Brazzaville’s most iconic landmarks. From historic routes to scenic streets,
the walk wasn’t just a stroll, it was a celebration of discovery, connection, and community.
Cultural Beats, Big Energy, and Unforgettable Moments
The walk reached its climax at the famous Corniche Bridge, where the crowd was greeted by the electrifying Makoua dancers, adding a burst of color, drums, and energy to the final
stretch. It was pure magic, and a moment that captured the very essence of Congolese
vibrancy. Along the way, guests enjoyed storytelling and cultural highlights led by Carole Milandou, a respected tourism guide, and Jean Jacques Iloki, a celebrated artist from the Poto Poto School of Painting, who offered a special presentation at the UNESCO Wall, a powerful symbol of peace and pride in Congo.
Young Minds, Big Dreams
Among the standout attendees were future tourism professionals, students and faculty from the Vatel School of Tourism and Hospitality, who brought enthusiasm and ambition to the event. It was inspiring to see the next generation walking alongside today’s industry leaders, sharing ideas and shaping the future of travel in Congo.
Wakanow: Driving Travel Experiences That Matter
For Wakanow, this event was more than just a walk, it was a bold statement of our continued commitment to connect Africa through meaningful travel experiences. We proudly introduced Wakanow to new audiences in Congo as a trusted brand that brings together ease, technology, and unforgettable journeys.
We were also thrilled to engage with professionals from embassies, international
organizations, telecoms, and both public and private sectors, all coming together in support of a shared vision for tourism in Congo.
A Glimpse Into What’s Next
Building on the excitement, TheXperts CongoB unveiled the upcoming Travel and Wellness
Club, a new initiative that will combine fitness, culture, and curated tourism experiences.
Wakanow will continue to play a key role in amplifying this journey, ensuring that more
people get to experience the soul of Congo and the heart of Africa one step at a time.
