It all started with a clatter of footsteps at the reception, and later cascaded into a mist of joyful banters. And right from the console of a makeshift DJ, the melody of Onyeka Onwenu’s classical One love rent the air. By the time this writer picked his way through the entrance of the first floor, the “party” had fully started.
Clad in various traditional attires to showcase the diversity of the Nigerian culture, an enthusiastic team of Delta Airlines took turns to dance at the Wakanow corporate headquarters, singing along Onwenu’s song of hope.
Within split seconds, the revelers were joined in by Wakanow’s Executive Director, Mrs. Toyin Odutayo, Chief Marketing Officer, Mrs. Victoria Onwubiko and Chief Technology Officer, Mrs. Titilayo Ademiluyi for a group dance amidst cheers.
The airline’s Head of Sales, Mr. Muyiwa Olarenwaju, said the visit was to appreciate the robust partnership the airline has enjoyed with Wakanow over the years.
“We are here to appreciate the amazing work Wakanow has been doing with Delta Airlines. We feel it’s important to show our appreciation and urge the Wakanow team to keep up the great job they have been doing.
“Wakanow is the Number 1 online travel agency in Nigeria, and they are actually doing it right. We also see Wakanow as a family. So, for us, it’s important to recognize what they are doing,” he added.
And minutes later, the train moved to the IT Infrastructure Unit where the Delta Airline crew was received by the unit lead, Seun Morafa, before proceeding to the HR Department.
